Cool Breeze in Port Dickson – Part 2

12 - 14 October 2013

On 12 Oct 2013, at 3pm, we checked into our one-bedroom apartment in 8 1/2 Mile, PD.  It was an oceanfront apartment. The living room and the bedroom each came with its own balcony.

Living room balcony offered us both seaview and gardenview

Our room was at the 5th floor. The moment we opened the sliding doors to the balcony, we were greeted by a strong ocean breeze. It was so strong that it swayed the heavy curtains off the floor.

fairly clean beach

The beach was just a walking distance, less than 7mins. There were many Malay food stalls at the beach.

Parking was a problem as there were very few covered parking lots for guests and so, we had to park at the open car park. But it was still within reach of the lifts.

sandy beach

We had late lunch by the seaside watching families enjoying themselves. Soon, the boys changed and dashed for the waters.

I wouldn't say the beach where we were was dirty, actually it looked pretty decent. The beach was  sandy, there were toilets and shower rooms and even camp area for overnight rent.

As for the water, it wasn't blue, but murky white and extremely salty.

still haven't got enough of the waters
That night, at about 9pm, we headed to PD town for dinner but surprise oh surprise..the town was kind of dead. I didn't know PD had gotten this quiet.  Many shops were closed and there were hardly people around. So we settled for Indian food, and this restaurant too was almost closing.

crab holes on the beach

With nothing else to do, we went for a stroll on the beach, it was windy and cool. We noticed many incoming airplanes readying for touchdown at KLIA.

that's our apartment and look how the coconut trees sway.. can you feel the wind..

At about 5am, I was jolted awake to the sound of gushing wind. As I stood at the balcony, I felt the strong chill wind and watched the campers below struggling to hold down their tents and utensils from being blown away.
